SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — The Shippensburg University football team returns home to SU Student Association Field at Seth Grove Stadium on Saturday for a 1 p.m. contest against longtime rival Bloomsburg on Parents and Family Day. It is the PSAC Eastern Division opener for both teams.

Live video coverage of the game will be provided by Shippensburg University's student television station (SUTV) and can be accessed online via the link above along with an archive of the game.

Live audio coverage of the game will be provided by Shippensburg University's student radio station (WSYC) and over terrestrial radio at 88.7 FM. WSYC is also on Tune-In Radio. Joey Marinelli and Dustan Snyder will have the call.

Shippensburg holds a 45-33-1 lead in the series, including a 28-11-1 mark in home games. SU lost last year's meeting but had won three-in-a-row over the Huskies prior to that meeting — including a 34-18 triumph at Bloomsburg under the lights on national television in 2013. The Red Raiders won twice at home in 2012 — with one game deciding the PSAC East crown in a clash of unbeaten teams and another occurring in the NCAA Tournament First Round.

From 2012-14, Bloomsburg posted a 31-6 overall record. Three of those six losses came against the Red Raiders.

Both teams enter the game having shown significant success this season running the football.  SU ranks fourth in the conference in rushing this season, averaging 215.7 yards on the ground through three games. Bloomsburg is sixth in the PSAC, averaging 189.3 rushing yards per game.

While Shippensburg received much acclaim in recent years for its passing proclivity, SU quietly ranked second in the PSAC last season for rushing yards — totaling 2,616 yards on the ground (237.8 per game). Bloomsburg has long had success with its rushing attack; the Huskies last season ranked third in rushing with a league-best 2,903 rushing yards (223.3 per game).
