LeQuan Chapman was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday afternoon by the league office after exceptional efforts in the long jump and triple jump at Bucknell.
Chapman, an outdoor All-American in the long jump last season, landed an exceptional mark Saturday at the Bison Outdoor Challenge of 24 feet, 5 ¾ inches. It puts him No. 3 on the NCAA Division II performance list in the event.
It's the exact same distance Chapman jumped last year in finishing sixth at the 2014 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships and just two centimeters shy of his PR set at the 2014 Paul Kaiser Classic.
On Sunday, Chapman entered Division II's Top 20 in the triple jump, matching his outdoor PR in that event by leaping 48 feet, 3 ¼ inches. Additionally, while it was not credited toward his field award, Chapman also ran on a 4x100-meter relay that posted a time of 42.43 seconds.
