SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University tennis team split a pair of home matches on a sunny and windy Saturday afternoon, defeating Hagerstown Community College, 9-0, before dropping a 7-2 decision to Harford (Md.) Community College, at the Robb Sports Complex. Tennis Courts.  
 
Senior Julia Saintz recorded two singles wins and another win in doubles on her senior day. Saintz and junior Brittnee Buckley edged the Hagerstown C.C. duo, 8-4, before falling in doubles to Harford C.C., 8-6.
 
Saintz played well in both matches on Saturday, dominating Hagerstown's Alyssa White before outlasting Harford's Haileigh Carper. Buckley notched a win at No. 2 singles against Hagerstown, winning 6-2, 6-3.
 
SU's duo of junior Emily Cox and sophomore Emilie Luttman dominated in their No.2 doubles match against Hagerstown C.C., winning 8-0. Cox notched a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles against Hagerstown.
 
Luttman impressed in singles, scoring a three-set win over Harford's Julie Sibbesen by scores of 6-1, 1-6, 6-3 and sweeping Hagerstown's Hanna Rupp by a pair of 6-0 scores.
 
Freshman Christine Devine earned a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles against Hagerstown. Fellow freshman Sarah Kramer nearly got a win at No. 6 singles against Harford's Korynne Arnold, winning a set but falling 3-6, 7-5, 6-3.
 
Shippensburg will host Millersville at 4 p.m. Tuesday in a pivotal PSAC East matchup at the Robb Sports Complex Tennis Courts.
