The Shippensburg University volleyball team has earned the Atlantic Region's No. 3 seed for the 2015 NCAA Division II Volleyball Championships – marking the highest national tournament seed in school history for the Raiders.
Shippensburg (30-8), the 2015 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Champions, is making its fourth NCAA Tournament appearance in school history, including its third in the last four years.
SU will face PSAC West opponent Gannon in the first round on Thursday, December 3 at host site Wheeling Jesuit (W.Va.) University. The match is at noon.
Gannon defeated SU earlier this season in four sets, but the Raiders defeated the PSAC West's Top 2 ranked teams (No. 4 seed Edinboro, No. 5 seed Clarion) in winning the conference championship this past weekend.
The winner of the First Round game between SU and Gannon will advance to play the winner of the Pitt-Johnstown (No. 2 seed) and West Chester (No. 7 seed) matchup.
The Atlantic Region Championship match is on Sat., Dec. 5 at 7 p.m.
