SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shippensburg University senior libero Shay Kolivoski was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Volleyball Eastern Division Defensive Athlete of the Week on Monday afternoon by the league office.

Kolivoski averaged 6.88 digs per set and 1.25 assists per set and was especially integral to the cause for a Raider squad down multiple starters due to injury. Overall, she totaled 55 digs, 10 assists and an ace in a two-match span last week (SU lost to Kutztown in four sets and defeated Millersville in four sets).

She was all over the court in a four-set win Friday night over Millersville in which SU was without the services of three regulars due to injury. Kolivoski totaled a team-high 29 digs and her passing resulted in nine assists. Her eventful evening also included an ace and the sixth kill of her career. She handled all nine of her service receptions.

In a four-set loss to Kutztown on Tuesday, Kolivoski led all players with 26 digs and handled 22 of her 23 service reception opportunities.

Kolivoski is one of three PSAC players with 400 or more digs this season; she is second in the PSAC in averaging 5.08 digs per set.

It is the second weekly award of the season for Kolivoski and the ninth of her career. She is the only Raider to have received a weekly award from the conference this season.
