The Shippensburg University volleyball team fell in straight sets Saturday afternoon at Eastern Division frontrunner Pitt-Johnstown in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup at Sports Center. Set scores were 25-13, 25-19 and 25-12.
Shippensburg (12-5, 3-3 PSAC) struggled on the attack, totaling just 23 kills and hitting .025 as a team. Junior
Maura Nolan had 17 assists but led the team in digs with 15. Four Raiders had double-digit digs, with sophomore
Maria Peluso providing 13 in the contest.

Annie Goerl managed a strong day among the Raiders – she had her second double-double in as many days with 10 kills and 11 digs. Senior
Taylor Gottshall had three kills and six block assists.
Pitt-Johnstown (12-2, 6-0) hit an efficient .246 in the match and got a strong performance from Cambria Wierman – who finished with 13 kills, 10 digs and a .209 attack percentage.
Shippensburg travels to Millersville on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. PSAC matchup with the Marauders.
