SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University wrestling team scored victories in nine of 10 bouts Friday night, including three pins and three major decisions, en route to a convincing 42-6 dual meet victory over Anderson (S.C.) inside Heiges Field House.

Shippensburg (12-6), under the direction of fourth-year head coach Seth Bloomquist '96M, has now recorded back-to-back seasons of 12 or more dual meet victories for the first time since the 1997-98 and 1998-99 seasons. SU has won four of its last five dual meets entering next week's regular season finales.

SU got three more pins Friday night. Senior Cody Myers scored the fastest pin of his collegiate career, winning by fall in 1:19 at 141 pounds over Eric DeAngelis. Sophomore Dylan Treaster returned to the lineup at 174 pounds with his first collegiate pin, winning in 1:54, while junior Jacob Nale notched a pin at heavyweight in 4:25.

The Raiders tallied bonus points in seven of their nine victories, including one forfeit. Of their three major decisions, sophomore Dave Calambas won 12-0 at 125 pounds, sophomore Neal Grudi used a riding time advantage to win 9-1 at 165 pounds and sophomore Luke Etter was impressive in his 13-1 victory at 184 pounds.

In a battle of two regionally-ranked wrestlers, fourth-seeded redshirt-freshman Cameron Throckmorton edged sixth-seeded Zak Hale of Anderson, 5-3. Throckmorton notched an early takedown and was able to fend off a battling Hale in the final period.

At 197 pounds, freshman Francis Slover was on the ground and trailing 6-5 in the final five seconds of his match yet looked to be headed into overtime as he was due a riding time point. However, Slover fashioned a reversal on Scott Richardson just before the final horn to earn an 8-6 decision.

Anderson (5-15) got a pin from Kevin Johnson at 157 pounds for its only points of the match.

Shippensburg travels Wednesday to face UPJ at 7 p.m. from Sports Center. SU's Senior Night will take place before its Friday, Feb. 15 regular season finale versus Kutztown.
