Biography

2011-12 (R-Sophomore): Posted an 11-7 record at 157 pounds for the Raiders in his third year with the team…had a 9-3 mark in dual meet competition…represented SU at the NCAA Super Region I Championships…achieved bonus points on six occasions, including pins of wrestlers from Anderson, East Stroudsburg and Rutgers (club), a technical fall of a Thaddeus Stevens wrestler and major decisions over wrestlers from George Mason and Newberry…lost only five times during the regular season…named to the 2011-12 Division II All-Academic Wrestling Second Team as selected by the NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA).

2010-11 (R-Freshman): Capped off his first full season with a flourish by nearly making the NCAA tournament after an outstanding postseason…finished fifth at 157 pounds at the NCAA Division II Super Region I tournament…went 4-2 at the tournament, matching his win total of the entire season entering the competition…achieved two pins at the regional tournament…posted a 7-11 overall record and earned an exhibition victory before a dual meet versus Kutztown…picked up bonus points in four matches, including two technical falls…named to the 2010-11 Division II All-Academic Wrestling Team as selected by the NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA).

2009-10 (Freshman): Completed a redshirt season…wrestled unattached in the ‘Shorty’ Hitchcock Memorial Classic…went 1-2 in tournament competition.

Neshaminy High School: Won three letters while wrestling under head coach Dan Winters…was a section champ during senior season…also was a district runner-up and state qualifier in his senior year…placed fourth in the PIAA Sectional 1 tournament and placed fifth in districts during junior season… compiled 60 wins during high school career.

Personal: Full name is John Matthew Lindquist…is the son of Bruce and Lori Lindquist…majoring in mathematics.
