Â

Â
Rachel Gallagher got the Raiders on the board with a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 5 singles.
Brinley Orris later won 6-4, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.
Â
In the final singles match to be completed,

Â
Nadhira Durham defeated
Yasmin De Meyer at No. 3 singles (7-5, 6-4) and Kala Price bested
Corinne Markovich at No. 1 singles (6-3, 7-5).
Â
ECSU had the edge by virtue of the doubles point that was decided prior to singles; the Vikings won No. 1 doubles 6-1 and No. 2 doubles 6-3.
Â
For the match against Bowie State, the teams decided to start with singles and only contest doubles if needed for a tiebreaker.
Â
Ava Kalist won 8-0 at No. 3 singles;
Taylor Maguire won 8-0 at No. 4 singles and
Janelle Kingsboro claimed an 8-1 win at No. 5 singles.
Â
With those three singles combined with accepting a forfeit win at No. 6 singles, the Raiders were victorious – leaving the No. 1 singles match featuring Miller and the No. 2 singles match with Gallagher left unfinished.
Â
SU returns to action in nine days with its first of four matches in Florida during Spring Break. The Raiders will face Wisconsin-Eau Claire at 11 a.m. Monday at the USTA National Campus in Orlando.
