YORK, Pa. – Olivia Carver and Michelle Kubiak recorded scoring performances Wednesday as the Shippensburg University women's swimming team began four days of competition at the 2026 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships being held at the Graham Aquatic Center.

Carver placed 12th in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:39.57 as part of a strong morning for the Raider distance swimmers. Alyssa Brown and Olivia Sitkowski each recorded PRs – Brown improved her personal best by 10 seconds with a time of 11:12.11, while Sitkowski was just a tenth of a second behind (11:12.21) in achieving her 11-second personal best.
 
Kubiak qualified for the pre-consolation 'C' final of the 200-yard IM and ended up in 22nd place, touching the wall in 2:13.17. Her evening swim was just .03 seconds off the pace of her morning prelim that allowed her a second swim. Charlee Shaw came within .16 seconds of her PR in the event, swimming 2:16.78.
 
Ella Nick delivered SU's fastest time in the 50-yard freestyle, swimming 24.94 seconds. Ann Secord (25.02 seconds) and Hannah Hudson (25.24 seconds) both recorded new personal bests during morning prelims.
 
Carver back-filled her day with a new personal best over 200 yards of freestyle, as her leadoff leg from the evening session's 800-yard freestyle relay produced a split of 1:55.95. The Raiders, who swam in the first of the two timed finals heats, managed seventh place with a time of 7:55.60. Elyse Arnold and Hudson swam the second and third legs of the relay while Kubiak anchored.
 
Thursday's competition begins with prelims at 10 a.m. and features finals at 5:30 p.m.
