The Shippensburg University women's soccer team fell at East Stroudsburg on Saturday afternoon, 1-0, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchup at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
Shippensburg (1-3-2, 0-3-2 PSAC East) fired nine shots on goal – its second-most in a match this season – while allowing just three to East Stroudsburg (3-1-3, 2-1-3). The Raiders also managed a season-high 12 corner kicks while only giving up two. Ultimately, SU was unable to find the back of the net.
The lone tally came in the 61st minute, when Jade Wiley scored her fourth goal of the season off an assist from Megan Cairns.
Following the goal, SU tilted the field. It fired seven shots on goal in the final 25 minutes, but Warrior keeper Emmy Clarkson was up to the task. Her nine saves resulted in her third shutout of the season.
Kirstin Brown was credited with two saves for the Raiders.
Ryleigh Cook had a team-high three shots on goal.
Shippensburg hosts Kutztown at 4 p.m. Wednesday at David See Field.
