SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's tennis team begins the 2025-26 season this weekend competing at the "Dynamic Duos," a two-day round-robin tournament hosted by Bloomsburg Friday and Saturday.

The Raiders will play four matches during the fall season in addition to Bloomsburg's "Dynamic Duos." Two will take place at Robb Sports Complex.

SU will host a pair of home matches next weekend, including their home opener Friday, Sept. 19 against California (Pa.), which will begin at 6 p.m. and will take place under the lights. They will also host Clarion Saturday, Sept. 20 at 1 p.m.

Roster

Shippensburg enters the 2025-26 season with 11 players. SU returns eight from its 2024-25 roster.
Â
Two players are operating as seniors in 2025:
Yasmin De Meyer and
Corinne Markovich. Three players:
Samhitha Koganti,
Taylor Maguire and
Sarah Vessah join the squad as first-year recruits.

From an athletic eligibility perspective, the team has two seniors, four juniors, two sophomores and three freshmen.

Coaching Staff
Â
Dylan Curtis returns for his third season as Shippensburg University's head coach in 2025-26.
Â
Volunteer assistant
John Hubert will assist the Raiders for the fourth season, and student assistant Elliot Miller is entering his second season on the SU coaching staff.

They will be joined in 2025-26 by first-year student assistant
Sam Flickinger.

Â
Shippensburg won eight matches in 2024-25, its most in a single season in 24 years (15 in 2000-01).
Â
Four of the eight returnees won at least six singles matches last season, led by junior
Brinley Orris's eight victories.
Â
This will be the first full tennis season for De Meyer after joining the team last spring. She previously played four seasons and was an All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) selection for SU field hockey.

Markovich has represented the Raiders in No. 1 singles competition the last three seasons.
