Shippensburg University was recognized Friday afternoon as the recipient of the 2025 ATEC/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Atlantic Regional Coaching Staff of the Year.
 
The Raider softball team, under the direction of ninth-year head coach Alison Van Scyoc and assistants Hannah Marsteller, Dina Beston and Emily Goshorn, are competing in the NCAA Division II National Championships for the third time in school history.
 
SU went 3-0 at the Atlantic Sub-Regional hosted by East Stroudsburg and 2-0 at the Atlantic Super Regional hosted by Kutztown.
 
The Raiders have reached the NCAA Tournament in each of the last four seasons, posting an 11-7 record under Van Scyoc in that span.
 
Regional (respective region only) and National Coaching Staffs of the Year are voted on by member head coaches.
