Hannah Marsteller enters her third season as an assistant coach at her alma mater following a historic career with the Raiders in 2026-27. Marsteller has played an integral role in the program’s continued success on the field and in the development of its student-athletes.
In 2025, Marsteller guided the Raiders to an Atlantic Region title and a berth in the NCAA Division II Women’s College World Series, marking one of the most successful postseasons runs in 20 years. This was the program's third-ever trip to the National Championships. The Raiders finished the season ranked No. 8 in the nation in the final NFCA Division II poll, marking the program’s first national ranking since 2014. In 2026, The momentum continued, as Shippensburg opened the season ranked No. 7 nationally in the NFCA Division II Preseason Poll, its highest preseason ranking in program history. Marsteller helped steer the Raider's to the 2026 PSAC Softball Championship with a 4-0 record in tournament play, earning the Raiders the No. 1 Atlantic Regional seed. The Raiders finished the 2026 season as No. 22 in the final national ranking, further establishing Shippensburg as one of the premier softball programs in the country.Â

During her first two seasons as the assistant coach, Marsteller helped develop 12 All-PSAC and 6 All Region honorees, including 2026 PSAC Freshman of the Year Leah Scwalm and Caitlyn Martell, 4-time All PSAC and 4-time All-Region honoree, and the first player in Shippensburg and PSAC history to earn the NCAA Division II Gold Glove Award in Martell's 2026 campaign. Marsteller's work with the program’s pitchers, position players, and overall player development has contributed to the continued growth and success of the Raiders.
A former standout Raider herself, Marsteller is a proud Shippensburg University softball alumna who competed from 2019-2023. During her career, she helped lead Shippensburg to a PSAC Championship in 2023 and NCAA postseason appearances in both 2022 and 2023. The 2022 season marked the program’s return to the NCAA Atlantic Regional, while the 2023 squad captured the program’s first PSAC Championship since 2005 and earned an automatic berth into the NCAA Division II Tournament.

As a player, Marsteller was a three-time First Team All-American; three-time PSAC Athlete of the Year; two-time Ron Lenz Division II Player of the Year; 2021-22 Pete Nevins Pennsylvania State Athletic Championship (PSAC) Women's Scholar-Athlete of the Year; the PSAC's all-time leader in RBIs (249); ranked second in PSAC history in home runs (62), in extra-base hits (134) and slugging percentage (.857), and third in doubles (62) and total bases (550). Marsteller also owns the PSAC record for consecutive games with a hit (37-games), spanning the end of the 2021 and the 2022 season. Marsteller is also now recognized by the PSAC as one of Shippensburg's seven selections to its "Greatest Female Athletes" list.

Marsteller’s transition from player to coach has allowed her to continue giving back to the program that played such an important role in her life. She brings a strong understanding of the game, a passion for player development, and a commitment to the continued success of Shippensburg University softball.

Marsteller, a native of, Fredericksburg, Virginia married Shippensburg University Football Alumnus, Austin Garner in June of 2026. They have a three-year-old goldendoodle named Oliver.
