SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's outdoor track & field team commenced the 2025 campaign Saturday by hosting Bucknell, Lehigh, Saint Francis and East Stroudsburg for the inaugural Keystone Challenge at Seth Grove Stadium.
Shippensburg won three events and had four runner-up finishes on a day which included 13 individual efforts that satisfied the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships automatic qualifying standards.
Sasha Lee opened the outdoor season with a similar flourish to how she finished her indoor season. Lee won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.47 seconds and the triple jump with a NCAA provisional qualifier on her only mark of the day by leaping 39 feet, 10 ½ inches (12.15 meters). She also took second in the long jump, pacing six Raiders in the event with a mark of 18 feet, 3 ¼ inches (5.57 meters).
Madison Malcolm was triumphant in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:05.15 and finished second to Lee in the 100-meter hurdles by crossing the finish line in 15.47 seconds.
Alyssa Wert earned a PSAC qualifier with her second-place finish in the 400 meters, running 58.48 seconds. Wert was also the second-fastest runner in the 200 meters with a time of 26.06 seconds.
Ashley Laukus and
Allyson Richwine picked up their league qualifiers in the high jump by getting over the bar at 5 feet, 3 inches (1.60 meters).
Anne Gardner and
Riyah Whigham posted identical top marks in the triple jump (36 feet, 11 ¾ inches [11.27 meters]) to earn conference cuts.
Hannah Cassner and
Abby Reasoner finished 3-4 respectively in the javelin with conference qualifiers. Cassner's top throw traveled 131 feet, 8 inches (40.13 meters) while Reasoner's went a distance of 128 feet, 11 inches (39.30 meters).
Makayla Decker paced the Raiders in the discus with a PSAC cut of 130 feet, 10 inches (39.89 meters) while
