The Shippensburg University women's tennis team completed its weekend in Buffalo with a setback against Daemen, falling 5-2 on Saturday in action at the Miller Tennis Center.

Shippensburg (4-3) battled against a top-tier opponent, earning wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles against Daemen (10-6).

Both of the victories included triumphs in a third-set tiebreaker.

At No. 5 singles, senior
Brooklynn Rupert flipped a 6-2 setback in the first set with a 6-2 victory in the second set before claiming victory with a 10-6 advantage in the tiebreaker.

At No. 6 singles, sophomore
Ava Kalist also reversed her first set, winning 6-4 after losing by the same score. Kalist won her tiebreaker 10-7.

Corinne Markovich and freshman
Jade Miller had a terrific battle at No. 2 doubles, coming up just short and dropping a 7-6 (7-5) decision to Carly Armitage and Stephanie Baier.

Rupert and senior
Yasmin De Meyer also had a highly competitive showing at No. 1 doubles, claiming four games against the Tiger tandem of Frida Rubio and Bella Bjerkan.

SU is on the road again next weekend. The Raiders will play three matches in three days, beginning Friday at Bowie State.
