Biography
2024-25 (Sophomore): Competed in 19 singles matches and nine doubles matches…tied for second on the team with seven wins while competing primarily at No. 3 and 4 singles…won a conference No. 4 singles match against Shepherd (Apr. 15)…won 6-0 in No. 2 double competition against Bowie State (Apr. 21)…helped SHIP tennis to eight overall match victories, its most in a single season in 24 years (15 in 2000-01)
2023-24 (Freshman): Competed in 18 singles matches and 13 doubles matches for the Raiders during her debut season…served primarily as the team’s No. 4 singles competitor and as part of a No. 3 doubles tandem…tied for the team lead with six singles victories…won four of her last eight singles matches, with all four victories coming against PSAC opponents…recorded five doubles victories.
Hollidaysburg Area High School: Totaled four varsity letters for the Tigers under head coach Brian Denis…competed in No. 2 singles…qualified for district doubles all four years…reached district singles as a senior…placed runner-up twice for the district team title...led the Tigers to a conference championship…was a member of the National Honor Society and National Art Honor Society.
About Gallagher: Full name is Rachel Marie Gallagher…is the daughter of Richard and Elaine Gallagher…has two brothers: Jacob and Trent, and a sister: Kaylie…five immediate family members have all graduated from or are currently attending Ship: Elaine (’89), Richard (’88), Kaylie (’19), Jacob (’23) and Trent (’26)…sister Kaylie was a member of the Shippensburg University women’s tennis team.
