SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University volleyball team rallied Friday night to post a 3-1 victory over Lock Haven in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchup at Heiges Field House. Set scores were 20-25, 25-12, 25-8, 25-20.

Shippensburg (19-6, 11-0) hit .308 from the floor – its highest hitting percentage in conference play, recording 53 kills, totaling 143 swings and only committing nine errors. Lock Haven (8-17, 4-7) ended the match with 40 kills and a .153 hitting percentage. The Raiders delivered 10 aces to the Bald Eagles four. SU out-blocked Lock Haven five to three.

The Raider offense was balanced throughout the match, with three Raiders tallying more than 10 kills.
Gracen Nutt and
Clara Wildermuth led SU with both recording a match-high 13 kills. Wildermuth, who tied her career-high in kills, committed no errors on 34 swings to end the match with a .382 hitting percentage. Wildermuth added a block assist. Nutt hit .303 from the floor and added a dig.

Hailey Cappleman delivered 11 kills and a .333 hitting percentage. Cappleman tacked on a career and match-high four aces, a career-high three solo blocks and tied her career high with eight digs.

Kearstin Davis dished out 41 assists and tacked on 16 digs, two aces, three kills and a block assist.
Shay Kolivoski paced the Raider defense with 16 digs, an ace and six assists.

Set one started with six tie scores before Lock Haven completed a 3-0 run, 10-7. The Raiders came within one after two Bald Eagle errors, 12-11. The Bald Eagles answered with an 8-0 run to take the lead, 20-11. With
Berkley Simmons on the service line, SU completed a 4-0 run to cut the deficit, 21-17. The Raiders came within three at 23-20. Lock Haven ended set one with a 2-0 run, 25-20.

SU flipped the momentum in set two and completed an early 6-0 run that included an ace from Simmons, 12-4. A pair of kills from Nutt increased the Raider lead, 15-6. Wildermuth notched a kill that started a 3-0 run, 21-9. Nutt closed set two with a kill to even the match, 25-12. The Raiders committed no attack errors in the second set, hitting .424 from the floor.

Cappleman delivered an early ace to open set three with a 4-0 run. Kolivoski recorded an ace and Cappleman added a pair of kills to increase the lead, 13-3. SU completed a 5-1 scoring stretch that featured an ace from
Sophia Barrera, 18-5. The Raiders closed set three on a 4-0 run, 25-8. The third set was the Raiders most efficient, finishing the set with a .444 hitting percentage. SU committed only one attack error on 27 swings. SU sided out with 100% efficiency in the third set.

After exchanging one-point leads, SU went on a 3-0 run that included a Davis ace and kills from Nutt and Wildermuth, 11-7. Bombas and Wildermuth notched back-to-back kills, 13-9. The Bald Eagles answered with a 6-1 scoring stretch to take over the lead, 15-14. Cappleman served a pair of aces to complete a 4-0 run and put the Raiders back in front, 21-17. After a 2-0 run Lock Haven was within two, 21-19. Kills from Nutt and Wildermuth put SU at match point, 24-19. Wildermuth delivered the final kill to end it, 25-20.

Shippensburg will remain home and host Bloomsburg on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. for Senior Day at Heiges Field House. Before the match, the team will honor four players:
