The Shippensburg University men's cross country team won the 2025 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship on Saturday morning – its third straight league title – by putting four runners among the Top 8 finishers and all of its scorers inside the Top 20.

The 8K race was held at the Doug Watts Cross Country Course, marking the first time that PennWest Edinboro served as hosts since 2018.

Shippensburg, the No. 2 team in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Atlantic Region rankings behind Charleston of the Mountain East Conference (MEC), affirmed its footing with four All-PSAC First Team finishes and six overall All-PSAC classifications.

SU's lead pack ran 2-4-6-8. Garrett Quinan became a four-time All-PSAC cross country runner by finishing second with a time of 24:40.

Quinan (first in 2024 and 2023, sixth in 2022) is the second Raider to become a four-time All-PSAC First Team finisher since the PSAC made the switch in 2015 to a First Team (first through 15th place) and a Second Team (16th through 30th place) classification system. Hayden Hunt achieved the feat from 2020-23.

Tommy Crum Jr. was two spots behind Quinan, completing his race in 24:54. Crum matched his place finish from last season.

Ryan Wolfe delivered his third straight Top 10 finish at the conference championships, running sixth with a time of 25:02. Overall, Wolfe joins Quinan as a four-time All-PSAC finisher – having earned Second Team honors as a freshman (29th in 2022).

Ben Devine had a huge run – improving by 16 spots and 69 seconds from his PSAC performance last season to place eighth in 25:17. He is now a two-time All-PSAC runner having attained his inaugural First Team finish.

Ramon Urena, who recently returned from injury, stepped up with a 20th-place time of 25:50 to round out the Raider scorers. Urena earned his second straight All-PSAC Second Team honor after a 19th-place finish last season.

Brennan Wellock joined Urena as a two-time All-PSAC Second Team performer, running 24th in 25:57.

Ben Hummel narrowly made it seven Raiders to earn an all-conference accolade, as he crossed the finish line in 32nd place with a time of 26:19.

SU's victory marked its sixth conference title in school history. Its previous team championships came in 2024 (28 points), 2023 (26 points), 2017 (38 points), 2016 (47 points) and 2010 (24 points).

The Raiders have now posted a Top 5 PSAC finish in 27 of head coach Steve Spence's 28 seasons – including a Top 3 finish in 23 of those seasons (six conference titles, 10 second-place finishes, seven third-place finishes).

The race for the individual title came down to the final kick, with IUP's Mike Formica narrowly edging Quinan by 1.2 seconds. Cal (Pa.) senior Jon Thrush ran third and West Chester junior Josh Miller was fifth.

Shippensburg returns to action in two weeks for the NCAA Atlantic Region Championships, which will be held Saturday, Nov. 8 at Lock Haven. The race distance will expand to 10K for regionals.
