SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's soccer team posted a 3-0 shutout over Mansfield on Wednesday evening in a non-conference match at cool and windy David See Field.
Shippensburg (3-6-3) achieved its third shutout of the season and had three different players score en route to the victory.
Maegan Quinn scored her first goal of the season and the third of her career in the 27th minute with a close-range flick to finish a tight passing play from
Emma Eisenhart and
Ashley Hughes.
Less than three minutes later, Eisenhart scored her first collegiate goal by depositing a
Ryleigh Cook feed into the back of the net.
With 10 minutes to go,
Madison Taylor finished a
Kaitlyn DiCandilo cross to record her first collegiate goal.
Jordan Lytwyn had a secondary assist on the play.
Mansfield (0-10) nearly found the back of the net in the final minute, but reserve goalkeeper
Hannah Cline made a stop at close range and
Chloe Chipego successfully defended the rebound at the goal line for a team save.
Shots on goal were 14-2 in Shippensburg's favor. The Raiders earned 10 corner kicks without allowing one.
Kirstin Brown earned the win in goal by working a scoreless first half.
Shippensburg is back in action at 4 p.m. Saturday at Millersville.
