The Shippensburg University women's tennis team was defeated in its regular-season home finale on Thursday by regionally-ranked Millersville, 7-0, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division match at Robb Sports Complex.

Shippensburg (3-12, 2-4 PSAC East) collected five games in eight matches. The Raiders had to battle against Millersville (14-6, 6-0), ranked No. 7 in the Atlantic Region, as the Marauders won all of the singles matches in straight sets.

Brighid Cantwell won two games playing at No. 1 singles, while fellow sophomore
Merel Hoekstra won one game at No. 2 singles, with a lot of the games going to sudden deuce. Senior
Cally Papoutsis collected one game at No. 5 singles.

Shippensburg will conclude its season at noon Saturday with a conference match at Bloomsburg.
