The Shippensburg University volleyball team began a streak of road matches with a 3-1 victory over Jefferson at Gallagher Athletic Center. Set scores were 28-26, 23-25, 25-17, and 25-17.
Shippensburg (12-10) had three players with double-digit kills. Sophomore
Maddie Clabaugh, sophomore
Emily Gardner and senior
Jackie Sterenberg totaled 43 of the 61 kills that the Raiders had. Clabaugh and Sterenberg each had 15 kills, while Gardner had 13 kills and just one error. All three hit over .300. Sterenberg's 15 kills are her season best as a Raider.
Freshman
Kearstin Davis led the team with a team-high 50 assists, her second 50+ assist match this season. Davis added 12 digs and four blocks, which ties her career high. Reigning PSAC Defensive Athlete of the Week freshman
Erica Lampus had a team-high 19 digs.
Senior
Oyinda Agbale added eight kills and tied her career high of seven blocks; her five block assists are a season high. Senior
Rachel Verhoef also had eight kills and three block assists.
The Raiders outhit Jefferson (12-6) with a .311-.201 hit percentage, its best of the season. SU committed only 14 errors, including only one error in the fourth set. Shippensburg's front row combined for 12 blocks, the second-most blocks in a match this season.
The Raiders will travel to Shepherd on Friday for a conference matchup at 7 p.m.
