BROWNSVILLE, Pa. – The Shippensburg University football team ended up on the wrong end of a road conference crossover against Cal U on Saturday, as the Red Raiders dropped a 58-7 decision to the Vulcans on a sunny and hot afternoon from Adamson Stadium.
Â
Shippensburg (0-3) trailed just 7-0 to Cal U (2-1) after the first quarter, but the Vulcans surged in the middle quarters to take control. Cal also scored 14 points off turnovers, including a 39-yard interception return late in the second quarter.

Redshirt-freshman quarterback
Max DeVinney made his first collegiate start on Saturday with redshirt-sophomore
Brycen Mussina limited due to injury. DeVinney completed 30-of-49 passes for 281 yards. He threw one touchdown and two interceptions.
Â
Redshirt-junior receiver
Winston Eubanks once again had a banner game, finishing with 12 receptions for 123 yards. Eubanks had a 34-yard catch on a 4th-and-14 play late in the fourth quarter that set up SU's lone touchdown – an 8-yard pass from DeVinney to redshirt-junior

Â
It is the third straight game in which Eubanks has totaled 100 or more receiving yards. He has already matched his 100-yard receiving game total of last year. Overall, it is the 12th 100-yard receiving game of Eubanks' career – he also achieved the feat in the first three games of the 2017 season and did so six times overall as a freshman.

Kyle Haines each had two receptions, totaling 31 and 30 yards respectively.
