The Shippensburg University women's tennis team received a pair of singles victories Saturday as it dropped a non-conference road match at Hood by a score of 7-2 from Frederick, Md.
Freshman
Kayla Tryanski lost just one game at No. 4 singles, emerging victorious with a 6-0, 6-1 triumph. Fellow freshman
Maria Drake claimed a 6-2, 6-4 victory at No. 5 singles. It was the second singles victory of the season for both women.
Senior
Kaylin Gallagher dropped a hard-fought match at No. 1 singles, falling 3-6, 6-2, 10-6 after claiming the opening set. Senior
Gabbie Binder won six games at No. 2 singles, and senior
Megan Moorhead won two games at No. 3 singles.
In doubles, Tryanski and Gallagher went to a tiebreaker but ultimately fell by a two-point margin in the No. 2 doubles match.
