SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University volleyball team had three players post double-digit kills and hit .250 as a team Tuesday night as it swept a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Quarterfinal matchup over Clarion from Heiges Field House by set scores of 25-22, 25-16 and 25-21.

Shippensburg (26-5) advances to face East Stroudsburg on Friday at 5 p.m. (in Erie), while Clarion (19-12) was eliminated with the loss.

SU trailed 22-20 in the opening set before scoring the final five points to claim the opening frame. The Raiders established an 11-7 lead in the second set and closed the frame on a five-point run to take a decisive two-set lead. Shippensburg never trailed in the third set, with the Golden Eagles getting as close as 22-20 and 23-21 in the final frame.

The Raiders got 42 assists from junior
Emily Hangen, as four players posted at least seven kills and hit .230 or better from the floor. Senior
Gabriella Johnson led all players with 15 kills, swinging .255, and narrowly missing a double-double by recording nine digs.

Samantha Webber had 14 kills to just two errors, swinging .480, in addition to a solo block and a block assist. Fellow senior
Kendall Johnson had 10 kills, four digs, two block assists and hit .231.

Alana Pergine was strong off the bench, slamming seven kills and hitting .385 while assisting on three of SU's four blocks on the night.

Megan Forstburg led the Raiders with 19 digs, while junior
Gianna Sigado added 16 and redshirt-freshman
Syera McCormick totaled 11 of her own. Each team served just two aces on the night, with the Raiders getting one each from Forstburg and McCormick.

Shippensburg will head to Erie for the PSAC Final Four, as it will face East Stroudsburg at 5 p.m. Friday in a conference semifinal hosted by Gannon University at the Hammermill Center.
