Junior
Jazmin Petrantonio scored five goals on Wednesday as the No. 5-ranked Shippensburg University field hockey team defeated host Frostburg State, 6-1, on a rainy afternoon at Bobcat Stadium.

Shippensburg (11-5) blitzed the Frostburg State (2-14) cage, resulting in 24 saves for Bobcat goalkeeper Sierra Smizer. The Raiders finished with a 30-3 advantage in shots on goal and a 22-2 edge in penalty corners.

Petrantonio opened the scoring by converting a penalty stroke at the 4:24 mark – the first of three goals she scored in the opening quarter. Her fourth goal came with 3:46 left in the second quarter and gave SU a 4-0 halftime lead.

Sophomore
Jenna Sluymer scored in the third quarter to make it 5-1, with Petrantonio adding a fifth with 13:02 remaining. Sluymer assisted Petrantonio's fourth goal, while sophomore
Valen Alonso assisted the second.

Redshirt-sophomore
Megan Lay was credited with two saves in 49 minutes of action.

SU's penultimate regular-season match was played on its open date on the league schedule – each Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play date features one team idle due to the odd number of teams (11).

After the results of Wednesday's league matches, Shippensburg secured the No. 3 seed for the PSAC Tournament and will host a to-be-determined opponent at 4 p.m. Tuesday in a conference quarterfinal from Robb Sports Complex.

Shippensburg concludes the regular season at 4 p.m. Friday at Slippery Rock.
