RECAP: Men’s Soccer Drops Road Match at Millersville, 2-1

Late penalty not enough for Raiders against the Marauders

The Shippensburg University men's soccer team came up short Wednesday night at Millersville, as the Raiders dropped a 2-1 decision to the home-standing Marauders in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchup from Pucillo Field.

Shippensburg (1-7-3, 1-6-1 PSAC East) got within a goal in the 88th minute when senior Colin Marks scored on a penalty kick, recording his second tally in as many matches. Marks converted after freshman Seth Crabbe was fouled on the exterior of the box.

Senior Bradley Brickman made six saves in the loss. Brickman has made at least five saves in four matches this season.

Millersville (8-4-2, 6-0-2), the lone remaining unbeaten in the Eastern Division, took a 1-0 lead in the 36th minute when Jake Gosselin tapped home a Nathan Erb header off a corner. Frank Astarita added another tally in the 51st minute that proved to be the difference.

Shots on goal were 8-5 in Millersville's favor. The Marauders also posted a 7-5 edge in corners.

Shippensburg hosts Shepherd at 2:30 p.m. Saturday from David See Field.
