SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's soccer team snapped an eight-match winless streak on Saturday with a 3-1 victory over Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division for Shepherd from David See Field.
Shippensburg (2-7-3, 2-6-1 PSAC East) rode the momentum of a fifth-minute goal by senior
Colin Marks to take a 1-0 lead into halftime. Marks has now scored in three consecutive games for the Raiders.
Sophomore
Cory Ferguson finished a cross from sophomore
Alex Petty in the 48th minute to give the Raiders a 2-0 lead.
Shepherd (2-12-1, 0-8-1) got one back in the 61st minute when Shamar Robinson scored on a rebound to make it 2-1.
In the 83rd minute, Shippensburg got an insurance goal when freshman
Seth Crabbe scored his team-leading fourth goal off the year off a pass from redshirt-junior
Erik Espinoza.
Senior
Bradley Brickman made a pair of saves to record his second win of the year in goal.
The Raiders return to action at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at East Stroudsburg.
