RECAP: Men’s Soccer Plays to 0-0 Tie at California

SU and California combine for just five shots on goal

The Shippensburg University men's soccer team played to a tie for the first time in its last 26 matches on Friday, as the Raiders and California (Pa.) ended with a 0-0 draw in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) road matchup at the Phillipsburg Soccer Facility.

Shippensburg (9-2-0, 5-1-0 PSAC) and California (1-6-3, 0-6-0) combined for more yellow cards (nine) in the match than shots on goal (five). Total shots were 15-11 in Cal's favor, while SU earned seven corner kicks compared to four for the Vulcans.

Senior Garret Watson was credited with three saves for the Raiders, earning his fourth solo shutout of the year.

With four conference matches remaining, Shippensburg is tied for second place in the PSAC standings with West Chester (16 points). The two teams will meet Wednesday at David See Field. Gannon (18 points), who lost to West Chester on Friday, remains atop the standings, while East Stroudsburg (15 points) and Sunday's opponent, Millersville (13 points), are close behind.

The Top 6 teams in the standings qualify for the PSAC Men's Soccer Championships.

UP NEXT: Sunday, 3:30 p.m. vs. Millersville.
