The Shippensburg University volleyball defeated Slippery Rock on the road in straight sets Saturday afternoon by scores of 25-18, 25-18 and 25-22 to earn its third consecutive Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) sweep and remain unbeaten in conference play.

Shippensburg (11-5, 4-0 PSAC) finished the first two weekends of league play as the only school to sweep the PSAC Northwest Division (Edinboro, Gannon, Mercyhurst and Slippery Rock). SU is one of three PSAC teams, along with IUP and California (PSAC Southwest Division), who remain unbeaten in league play.

Morgan DeFloria led the Raider attack tallying a team-high 18 kills while hitting at a .306 clip. Sophomore
Samantha Webber recorded 11 kills on the day to join DeFloria as the only two Raiders with double-digit kills.

As a team, the Raiders posted a .235 attack percentage with no player hitting in the negative for the second consecutive match. Webber and sophomore
Gabriella Johnson each tallied three block assists with sophomore
Kendall Johnson had two block assists and also contributed eight kills and a .333 hitting percentage.

Emily Hangen totaled 45 assists on the afternoon while junior
Courtney Malott and sophomore
Megan Forstburg each recorded 19 digs.

Slippery Rock (8-8, 0-4) took a 13-12 lead in the first set before Shippensburg claimed 14 of the next 18 points to win the set 25-18. SU closed the second set winning eight of the final 10 points to take a 2-0 set advantage. The Raiders finished the off the sweep with a 25-22 victory in the third set, using a 3-0 run to seal the win.

Shippensburg returns to action at 7 p.m. Friday when it hosts East Stroudsburg from Heiges Field House.Â
