Sarah Hunt Named 2017 PSAC Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Year

Hunt, the 2017 PSAC Indoor Championships Field MVP, earned two All-America honors

23707SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shippensburg University senior Sarah Hunt was named the 2017 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Year on Wednesday after voting results were announced by the league office.
 
Hunt, the 2017 PSAC Indoor Championships Most Valuable Field Athlete, won conference titles in the long jump and triple jump. She established new school records in both events this season, posting a top long jump of 20 feet, 0 ½ inches (6.11 meters) and a top triple jump of 39 feet, 11 ½ inches (12.18 meters).
 
At the NCAA Championships, Hunt became SU's first women's indoor First Team All-American in the long jump in school history, placing fifth as the PSAC's highest national finisher in any event. All six of her jumps traveled 19 feet (5.81 meters) or farther, with her top mark recorded at 19 feet, 8 ¼ inches.
 
Hunt also claimed All-America Second Team honors in the triple jump, placing ninth in her debut NCAA appearance in the event. She enhanced her PR and school record twice at nationals, first in prelims, and once again during the finals.
