Volleyball Drops PSAC Road Contest at Regionally-Ranked Seton Hill, 3-0

Six different Raiders record kills in the contest

The Shippensburg University volleyball team fell in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) road match to regionally-ranked Seton Hill on Saturday afternoon, 21-25, 18-25 and 9-25 from Sullivan Gymnasium inside the Katherine Mabis McKenna Center.

Shippensburg (19-10, 11-4 PSAC) battled Seton Hill (20-5, 11-4) to a tough first-set loss, but could not stave off the Griffins offensive attack the rest of the day – ultimately dropping its fourth PSAC contest of the year.

The Raiders had six different players record a kill on the day including a team-high seven from junior Morgan DeFloria. Sophomore Kendall Johnson tallied six kills on the afternoon while hitting at a .250 clip.

Sophomore Samantha Webber and freshman Gianna Sigado each recorded five kills for the Raiders. Webber also finished with a team-high three blocks.

Defensively, three Raiders recorded eight or more digs. Sophomore Megan Forstburg led SU with 10, Sigado finished with nine and DeFloria tallied eight. Redshirt-junior Courtney Malott led the Raiders with 21 assists as the setter.

Shippensburg will return to action Tuesday night at 7 p.m. when it hosts Millersville at Heiges Field House.
