SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University volleyball team was dispatched in straight sets by Southwest Division opponent IUP on Saturday, 25-23, 25-17 and 25-17 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) clash from Heiges Field House.
 
Shippensburg (19-7, 11-2 PSAC) got 12 kills and a .333 hitting efficiency from sophomore 
Samantha Webber and another double-double (10 kills, 14 digs) from junior 
Morgan DeFloria, but no other Raider had more than five kills.
 
Freshman 
Emily Hangen had 31 assists, and sophomore 
Megan Forstburg paced the Raiders with 16 digs. Sophomore 
Gabriella Johnson contributed five kills, four digs, and SU's lone ace on the day.
 
IUP (19-7, 10-3) out-hit the Raiders by a .239 to .120 margin and out-blocked the Raiders by an 11-4 margin. Shippensburg also had eight service errors compared to just three by the visitors. Natalie Cignetti led all players with 17 kills.
 
Saturday's loss marks the first time the Raiders have been swept at home since Oct. 30, 2015. SU has posted a 32-8 record at home since the start of the 2015 season.
 
Shippensburg hits the road for four of its final five regular-season matches, beginning 7 p.m. Friday at California.Â
