SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University volleyball team rebounded on Saturday afternoon by sweeping Lock Haven, 25-18, 25-20 and 25-23, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Central Division matchup on Homecoming from Heiges Field House.

Shippensburg (17-6, 10-1 PSAC) became the first PSAC team to reach double-digit victories in conference play with its win over Lock Haven (11-12, 4-7).

SU did not have a player hit in the negative on the afternoon. Junior
Morgan DeFloria led the Raiders with 13 kills. Sophomores
Kendall Johnson and
Samantha Webber recorded 12 and 11 kills respectively. Johnson hit at a .276 clip while Webber finished with a .333 attack percentage.

Freshman
Emily Hangen recorded a match-high 39 assists. The freshman also recorded five kills on seven attempts for finish with a .714 attack percentage. Sophomore
Megan Forstburg led the Raiders with 19 digs while freshman
Gianna Sigado recorded 13 digs in her second collegiate start.

Shippensburg took the first set 25-18 and closed the set with a 4-0 scoring run. SU won eight straight points in the middle of the second set to cruise to an eventual 25-20 Game 2 win. Lock Haven looked to force a fourth set and held a 22-18 advantage late in the third set, but SU closed the eventual final set on a 7-1 scoring run to record its 10th conference win of the year.

Shippensburg will return to action Tuesday at 7 p.m. when it goes on the road to take on Goldey-Beacom.Â
