SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University volleyball team had its 10-match winning streak come to an end on Friday night, falling in four sets to Pitt-Johnstown by scores of 20-15, 16-25, 25-23 and 18-25 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Central Division clash from Heiges Field House.

Shippensburg (16-6, 9-1 PSAC) had its first setback since September 16, as the Raiders posted just a .102 hitting percentage that included 28 attack errors. SU also had 11 service errors. Despite the loss, the Raiders remain atop the PSAC Central Division by one match over Pitt-Johnstown.

Sophomore
Samantha Webber paced SU with 16 kills and hit .204 from the field. Fellow sophomore
Gabriella Johnson battled and recorded her fifth double-double of the season, totaling 10 kills and 12 digs while hitting .176.

Freshman
Emily Hangen had 38 assists and 21 digs. Sophomore
Megan Forstburg added 18 digs. Junior
Morgan DeFloria had nine kills and 12 digs.

Pitt-Johnstown (18-5, 8-2) got double-doubles from Marissa Erminio (17 kills, 10 digs) and Cambria Wierman (13 kills, 20 digs) while hitting .198 as a team. Both teams had double-digit blocks, with UPJ totaling 12 and SU finishing with 10.

Shippensburg hosts Lock Haven at 1 p.m. Saturday from Heiges Field House.

Before the match, Coach Piscotty was presented with an award for her 300th coaching victory achieved earlier this season.
