SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University wrestling team reboots its season this weekend with competition on Saturday at the North-South Duals, beginning a key two-month stretch that leads up to the NCAA Super Region I Championships in late February.

SCHEDULE UPDATED: This weekend, SU heads to Ursinus College to face three Division III schools: No. 16 Wilkes,
Hunter, SUNY Cortland and No. 14 Delaware Valley. The competition begins at 10 a.m. and rolls continuously throughout the afternoon. SU is on a break between the Wilkes and SUNY Cortland match.Â

Shippensburg has been slotted at No. 8 in the NCAA Super Region I rankings, and five Raiders are regionally-ranked. The newest polls were released late Tuesday.

Junior
Evan Ramos is atop the region at 197 pounds and ranks No. 5 in the country at the weight class. Ramos is 12-1 this season and will be competing this weekend for the first time since winning the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) title at 197 pounds on December 10.

Senior
Karl Lightner slots fourth in the region at 141 pounds. Lightner is 7-5 this season. Sophomore
Adam Martz is fourth at 157 pounds with a 9-5 season record.

Dustin Steffenino is ranked fifth in SR1 at 125 pounds having posted two falls through six matches this season, while redshirt-freshman
Billy Barnes is poised to make his season debut and has been ranked eighth in the region at 165 pounds.

Following this weekend's competition at the North-South Duals, Shippensburg returns to Division II competition on January 13 with a PSAC dual meet at East Stroudsburg.Â
