The Shippensburg University volleyball team ran its winning streak to six matches on Friday, posting a five-set victory over Charleston (W.Va.) at Notre Dame (Ohio) College before sweeping Alderson Broaddus in a match held at Ursuline College.

Shippensburg (9-1) defeated Charleston (4-5) by set scores of 25-16, 25-21, 22-25, 21-25 and 15-13, and then triumphed over Alderson Broaddus (0-10) by scores of 25-9, 25-18 and 25-19).

Senior
Annie Goerl had a strong day: she was the only Raider to achieve double-digit kills in both matches. Goerl was credited with 12 kills and 10 digs against the Golden Eagles and hit .300, she later posted 11 kills on just one error against the Battlers, swinging .556. She also led the team for the day with four service aces.

Freshman
Samantha Webber continues to block at a high rate, totaling seven between the two matches. Overall, Webber had 15 kills and hit .263 for the day.

Sophomore
Morgan DeFloria paced the Raiders in the five-set win over Charleston with 15 kills, swinging .205 with eight digs. DeFloria totaled 21 kills and four blocks for the day.

Freshman
Kendall Johnson impressed once again with 16 kills – 11 against Charleston, and a seven-block afternoon. Johnson hit .289 on 38 attempts. Senior
Maura Nolan snuck in six kills and averaged more than eight assists per set.

Senior
Maria Peluso was all over – serving three aces, ripping 13 kills and hitting .310, and totaling 21 digs. Peluso had a double-double of 10 kills and 14 digs against Charleston. Freshman
Megan Forstburg continued her work as the libero with a team-high 26 digs for the day.

Shippensburg returns to action at 2 p.m. Saturday with a match versus Davis & Elkins, followed by a 4 p.m. contest against Ohio Valley. Both matches will be held at Ursuline College.Â
