The Shippensburg University volleyball team wrapped up its second-straight undefeated weekend on Saturday with a pair of four-set victories, defeating David & Elkins and Ohio Valley in neutral-site tournament matches at Ursuline (Ohio) College.

Shippensburg (11-1) has now won eight-in-a-row and is off to its best start to a season in school history through 12 matches. SU was 10-2 last season through 12 matches.

Set scores versus Davis & Elkins (3-9) were 19-25, 25-11, 25-21 and 25-9, and against Ohio Valley (4-9), were 25-14, 17-25, 25-14 and 25-20.

Sophomore
Morgan DeFloria led the Raiders on the day with 22 kills, swinging .362 on 47 attempts. DeFloria had 15 kills and hit .429 against the Senators before slamming seven kills and hitting .263 against the Fighting Scots.

Freshman
Samantha Webber continued an excelsior start to her collegiate career with 18 kills, four blocks and a .471 hitting percentage on 34 attempts. Webber dominated the Ohio Valley match, slamming a team-high 12 kills to just one error, and hitting .579 on 19 attempts.

Senior
Annie Goerl capped off a great weekend with 18 kills and 25 digs. Goerl had seven kills and 17 digs against D&E before coming back with 11 kills and eight digs in the nightcap. She was also a part of several crazy service runs for the Raiders on the day and finished with five aces.

Fellow senior
Maria Peluso also had five aces on the day and continued her exemplary all-around efforts with 28 digs and eight kills. Freshman
Megan Forstburg added to her digs total with a team-high 35, while sophomore
Angela Tarabrella had 19 digs and contributed three aces of her own.

Freshman
Kendall Johnson continued to provide significant dividends in the middle, tying for second on the team for the day with 18 kills while hitting .220. Johnson also led the Raiders on the day with eight blocks.

Senior
Maura Nolan maintained her top form with 77 assists, six kills, a .462 hitting percentage, 14 digs and an impressive seven block assists. For the weekend, Nolan averaged nearly nine assists per set and hit .407 from the floor.
