SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University baseball team will compete in the 2016 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Baseball Championships beginning Sunday from Kelly Automotive Park in Butler, Pa. The Raiders are the East's No. 4 seed and will open against West No. 1 seed Mercyhurst at 6:30 p.m.
 
Live statistics of the PSAC Tournament will be provided by the PSAC and can be accessed through the link located above. The Shippensburg University sports information department will be providing live audio and live Twitter updates throughout the tournament; that information can also be accessed by clicking on the link located above.
 
Shippensburg (25-25, 14-14 PSAC East) returns to the PSAC Championships for a second straight year after a two-year absence in 2013-14. For those unfamiliar with the PSAC Championships, it is double-elimination tournament. A bracket and full schedule will be posted to the PSAC Championships page, linked above when available. 

Starting Strong
• Entering the PSAC Tournament, the Shippensburg starting rotation is pitching as well as it has all season.
• Over the past nine games, SU's starters have combined to post a 2.49 ERA in 47 innings of work. In five of the nine games, SU's starters have gone at least five innings.

More Innings, More Wins
• After a season of conference play that features doubleheaders with games of seven innings each, the PSAC Tournament reverts back to the traditional nine-inning game format.
• The Raiders are 9-4 in games this season that have featured at least nine innings, including a 7-4 record in games that were scheduled to last nine innings.
• SU is 3-0 in extra-inning games this season.
