The Shippensburg University lacrosse team notched its second win of the season on Monday afternoon by rallying from a halftime deficit to record a 13-11 victory over Catawba in a non-conference matchup in Salisbury, N.C.

Shippensburg (2-1) trailed 6-5 at halftime to Catawba (2-2), but scored three of the first four goals in the second half to take an 8-7 lead. SU would not trail the rest of the way, but the Raiders never held a lead of more than two goals in the contest.

Amanda Frank led the Raiders with five goals on the day, while recording four groundballs, two draw controls and an assist. SU lost draw controls on Monday by a decisive 22-4 margin, as junior
Max Barkley was unavailable due to injury, but the Raiders overcame that with a +11 turnover margin.

Allison Fugate had a hat trick and one assist. Freshman
Madi Newman had another fine all-around game with team highs of five groundballs and three caused turnovers to go along with two goals (both on free positions) and one draw control.

Shippensburg is scheduled to host its home opener at noon Saturday against West Virginia Wesleyan from Robb Sports Complex.
