SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University lacrosse team concluded the non-conference portion of its schedule on Saturday with a 15-6 victory over West Virginia Wesleyan on an overcast, temperate day at Robb Sports Complex.

Shippensburg (3-1) and West Virginia Wesleyan (1-4) were scoreless through the first 13 minutes of play before freshman
Kyra Shank caged her first collegiate goal to open the scoring. SU led 4-1 with seven minutes left in the opening half before out-scoring the Bobcats 6-1 heading into the intermission.

Shank finished with four goals and two assists on the day, while junior
Amanda Frank had a hat trick, an assist, two caused turnovers and two groundballs. Frank leads the Raiders this season with 11 goals through four games.

Ali Harclerode, sophomore
Allison Fugate and freshman
Maggie Lawshe each scored twice in the game. Harclerode had an assist and was all over defensively, recording a career-high six groundballs and matching a career high with three caused turnovers.

Fugate also had an assist and a career-high three groundballs, while Lawshe's tallies are the first of her collegiate career. Junior

Morgan Stone also scored in the game for the Raiders, while freshman
Madi Newman had an assist, four groundballs, and two draw controls.

Bridgette Morrissey had two draw controls, while junior
Annemarie Cericola had two groundballs and a caused turnover. Sophomore
Makenzie Magnotta provided two caused turnovers and a groundball – her interception of a Wesleyan pass in the first half set up the odd-man rush that resulted in SU's second goal of the game.

Ally Frymoyer worked the first half and made four saves, allowing just two goals. Freshman
Aly Danick made her collegiate debut and recorded five saves in the second half.

Shippensburg won the turnover margin, 28-16, and doubled up the visitors on both shots and groundball pickups.

West Virginia Wesleyan, fresh off a 21-20 overtime victory yesterday over Wilmington (Del.), got four goals from Hannah Antonelli and two goals from Madison DuVall. The Bobcats posted a 14-9 edge in draw controls.

SU has already matched its win total of a season ago with its 3-1 start.

The Raiders will begin PSAC play at 4 p.m. Tuesday when they host Kutztown from Robb Sports Complex.
