SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University volleyball team split a pair of home matches on Saturday, first dropping a four-set conference match against Lock Haven (25-18, 21-25, 19-25, 20-25), before re-grouping to sweep Ohio Valley in straight sets (25-12, 25-14, 25-20).

Shippensburg (21-4, 8-3 PSAC) dropped their first match in four sets against Lock Haven (5-14, 4-7) after claiming the first set. Freshman
Samantha Webber led the Raiders with 14 kills followed by senior
Annie Goerl, who recorded eight kills.

Maura Nolan led the team with 39 assists while senior
Brittany Whitacre recorded three aces in the defeat.

Against Ohio Valley, the Raiders swung at an impressive .228 rate with Goerl leading the way with seven kills and freshman
Gabriella Johnson recording six kills.

Webber recorded eight blocks in the day's second match while Whitacre served five aces in the victory over the Fighting Scots.

Shippensburg totaled 11 blocks, nine aces and 33 kills to end the weekend. Â
