The Shippensburg University baseball team finished the regular season Saturday by splitting a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division doubleheader with West Chester, dropping Game 1, 12-5, before winning the nightcap, 6-3, at Serpico Stadium.

Shippensburg (25-23, 17-11 PSAC East) totaled 11 runs on 18 hits and three errors while West Chester (25-10, 19-7) finished with 15 runs on 27 hits and one error.

Austin Allison finished the afternoon 4-for-8 with three RBIs, two runs and a double while sophomore
Jake Kennedy went 3-for-7 with two doubles, one RBI and one run.

Dalton Hoiles hit 3-for-7 with a double and three RBIs.

Grant Hoover hit 2-for-6 on Saturday, and finished the weekend series batting .455 (5-for-11) with four runs, two walks, an RBI and a double.

In Game 1, SU opened the scoring in the first inning when Kennedy doubled to center field, plating senior
Jimmy Spanos.

West Chester scored twice in the home half of the first inning, but the Raiders responded with three runs in the second on a two-run single from Allison and an RBI-single from sophomore
Ryan McMillen.

SU held a 5-3 lead after the first three-and-a-half innings but the Golden Rams scored four runs in the third, one in the fourth, and four in the fifth to outlast the Raiders.

In Game 2, Hoiles plated the first runs of the contest with a two-run single in the third inning. SU scored two runs in the fourth on RBI-doubles from Allison and Spanos.

Cody Ezolt to give the Raiders a 5-0 lead.

West Chester responded with three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to cut the lead to 5-3.

Ryan Hill delivered a pinch-hit RBI-double to add an insurance run in the top of the seventh.

Seth LeFever pitched scoreless sixth and seventh innings to earn his first career save. On the afternoon, he allowed four hits and two walks while striking out one in three scoreless innings of relief.

Nick Massetti earned the win in Game 2 after allowing three runs on six hits while striking out six and walking two in 4.1 innings of work.

Thomas Swartz finished the day with 1.2 innings of relief. He stuck out one and allowed two hits and one walk.

Shippensburg will take on Seton Hill Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in the PSAC Tournament from Butler, Pa.
