Softball Drops Road Twinbill at West Chester By Scores of 6-0, 7-2

SU gets 15 hits on the day, including four by Pattillo and three by T. Thompson

The Shippensburg University softball team dropped a pair of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division games on Saturday afternoon, falling 6-0 and 7-2 at West Chester to split the season series.
 
Shippensburg (10-11, 5-9 PSAC East) had 15 hits on the day but left 17 runners on base between the two games. West Chester (26-10, 10-4) had 21 hits, including two home runs and seven extra-base hits on the day.
 
Junior Taylor Pattillo was 4-for-6 on the day, including a 3-for-3 performance in the opener. Senior Tyler Thompson had three hits and a stolen base, while freshman Anna Warfield had an RBI-single and a walk in Game 2.
 
Senior Liz Parkins took the loss in Game 1, pitching 2.2 innings. Senior Makenzie Lynn worked 3.1 innings in relief.
 
Junior Quincy Lewis was dealt the loss in Game 2, throwing 4.1 innings, with sophomore Casey Thompson working in relief.
 
Shippensburg is next in action at 2:30 p.m. Monday when it travels to Bloomsburg for another Eastern Division doubleheader.
