Junior goalkeeper
Ally Frymoyer made a career-high 19 saves on a downright frigid Saturday afternoon at Slippery Rock, but the Shippensburg University lacrosse team could not stave off the home squad in a 15-7 loss to The Rock in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup.
Â
Shippensburg (2-7, 0-4 PSAC) was tied 2-2 with Slippery Rock (3-5, 1-2) through the first seven minutes, but The Rock answered with a six-goal run and never trailed by less than six goals the rest of the day.
Â
Frymoyer made 12 saves in the first half and seven in the second half; her previous career high was 18 saves last season against No. 3 Limestone.
Â
Senior
Sheila Johnson recorded a hat trick, while sophomore
Amanda Frank, sophomore
Max Barkley and freshman
Sarah McLeod each scored a goal.
Â
Sophomore
Annemarie Cericola had a goal and two of SU's six caused turnovers. Cericola and Frymoyer each led the team with six groundballs. SU held a 15-8 advantage in draw controls, getting nine more from Barkley, but the team committed 31 turnovers.

The Raiders continue their road swing at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Kutztown.
