The Shippensburg University women's swimming team has its first meet of the 2015-16 season this weekend when it travels to West Chester for a tri-meet with the Golden Rams and Southern Connecticut State. The two-day meet begins at 5 p.m. Friday and resumes Saturday morning.

SU is under the direction of 17th-year head coach Tim Verge '89. The women's team has two seniors: Rikki Sargent and Carolyn Meier -- and two juniors: Kaytee Garcia and Sami Sabol. The remaining 18 individuals of SU's 22-person roster are freshmen or sophomores.

The Raiders return seven individuals who contributed to the team score at last year's conference championships. SU also boasts 10 newcomers in 2015-16 and is looking to improve upon its sixth-place finish of a year ago.
