The Shippensburg University women's swimming team competed in its first dual meet of the 2025-26 season Wednesday night as it traveled to Kutztown for competition held inside Keystone Natatorium.
 
The Raiders won two events on the night – with Olivia Carver touching the wall in the 1,000-yard freestyle in a time of 11:11.13 and Charlee Shaw claiming gold in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 32.77 seconds.
 
Ella Nick delivered a time of 25.33 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle that satisfied the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying standard for the event.
 
Carver was the runner-up in the 200-yard freestyle (2:03.82) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:32.50), while Paige Bensinger was the runner-up to Shaw in the 50-yard breaststroke after swimming 33.07 seconds.
 
Hannah Hudson swam 1:03.33 in the 100-yard backstroke – just .01 seconds shy of first place, while also taking the No. 2 spot in the 50-yard backstroke (29.36 seconds). Bria Burkholder completed the 100-yard butterfly with a second-place time of 1:02.10.
 
Kutztown won the dual meet by a score of 164.5 to 95.5. The Golden Bears swam exhibitions in the final relay.
 
Shippensburg returns to action in 10 days with a dual meet at Bloomsburg on Saturday, Oct. 4.
