The Shippensburg University volleyball team snapped a five-match losing streak Friday night with a straight-set victory over Cheyney in PSAC Eastern Division play. Set scores were 25-12, 25-16 and 25-17.

Shippensburg (7-7, 1-4 PSAC) was paced offensively by redshirt-freshman
Brittany Whitacre, who totaled a match-high seven kills. Freshman
Courtney Malott contributed six kills on just one error with three aces.

Junior
Laura Plank led all players with 11 digs, while sophomore
Annie Goerl had six kills and 10 digs.

SU benefited from 15 service aces. Goerl and sophomore
Rebecca Pryor each led the team with four aces. Pryor added five kills and three digs.

Freshman
Catherine Amoriello had a team-high 10 assists, served two aces and had five digs. Fellow freshman
Shelby Henry posted new personal bests of four kills and six digs.

Shippensburg is at West Chester on Saturday for a 1 p.m. match against the Golden Rams.
