TRAVEL ADVISORY: The Bloomsburg Fair has been running all week and is a very large event. More than 65,000 people were in attendance last Saturday. Plan on needing additional time to arrive for the game. A recommended travel route is to use I-80 and Exit 236 to arrive from the north and travel down Route 487 to the stadium, hopefully avoiding Fair traffic.

The Shippensburg University football team hits the road this Saturday for a 2 p.m. matchup against the Bloomsburg Huskies from Danny Hale Field at Redman Stadium.

It is the first PSAC Eastern Division matchup of the season for both teams following two crossover games against Western Division schools that now count toward PSAC standings.

Shippensburg (2-1, 1-1 PSAC), picked No. 4 in the PSAC Eastern Division Preseason Coaches' Poll, went 7-4 last season. SU went 6-1 in the PSAC East and tied for the division championship with Bloomsburg and West Chester.

Bloomsburg (3-0, 2-0), picked No. 3 in the PSAC Eastern Division Preseason Coaches' Poll, are the defending conference champions whose only loss during the regular season came at the hands of the Red Raiders.

Last Week
Shippensburg could not overcome a decisive offensive showing by visiting California (Pa.) on Saturday's Parents & Family Day, dropping a 56-34 contest to the Vulcans.  The game featured 1,174 combined yards of total offense. Junior quarterback Chris Lawshe completed a career-high 30 passes on 52 attempts, totaling a career-high 367 yards and four touchdowns while also rushing for 67 yards and a touchdown.

Bloomsburg forced six turnovers in a 38-22 victory at Mercyhurst. Running back Eddie Mateo paced the offense with his third straight 100-yard rushing day, finishing with 117 yards and two scores, while the defense scored twice on interception returns for a touchdown and also benefited from a punt return for a touchdown.

Series History
Shippensburg holds a 45-32-1 lead in the series, yet the Huskies are 21-17 in home games.

SU won last year's meeting at Bloomsburg, recording a 34-18 triumph under the lights on national television.  The Red Raiders have won three-in-a-row over the Huskies, including two home victories in 2012 — one that decided the PSAC East crown in a clash of unbeaten teams and another in the NCAA First Round.

Bloomsburg has gone 27-4 in its last 31 games since the start of the 2012 season. Three of those four losses have been against the Red Raiders.

Prior to 2012, the Red Raiders had lost five of the previous six meetings between the two teams.

SU is tied with Colorado School of Mines for the most first downs (92) in Division II through three weeks of play.  

SU is third in the country for total offense (568.7), trailing Western New Mexico (575.0) and Texas A&M-Commerce (574.7)

SU is 12th in the country and second in the PSAC for scoring offense (45.3). Slippery Rock (46.3) leads the conference.

SU is 22nd in the country in rushing offense, averaging 231.7 yards per game. The Rock (338.0) leads the conference.

SU is one of five teams in the country averaging 90+ plays per game. SU's 90.3 plays per game are third in Division II.

#SHIP Individual NCAA Rankings:
Trevor Harman's 10.7 receptions per game are second in the country to Tyler Slavin (11.3) of New Mexico Highlands.

Trevor Harman's five receiving touchdowns rank sixth in the country. Three men have seven TDs; two have caught six.

Chris Lawshe ranks ninth in points responsible for (66), as he has contributed to 11 touchdowns through three games.

Records Watch:
Trevor Harman has 255 career receptions; he is eight shy of becoming the all-time PSAC record holder.

Trevor Harman has 55 career receiving touchdowns; he is four shy of becoming the all-time PSAC record holder.

Blair Brooks moved into No. 10 on SU's all-time rushing list Saturday. He is 221 yards shy of becoming the eighth Red Raider in school history with 2,000+ rushing yards.
