Zach Zulli ’13 Signs With Montreal Alouettes of Canadian Football League (CFL)

Former SU standout becomes one of four QBs on team’s roster

13221SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Zach Zulli '13, the 2012 Harlon Hill Trophy winner and three-year starting quarterback for the Shippensburg University football team, has signed a professional contract with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League.
 
"The long days in the gym, every drop of sweat, and every obstacle I've overcome in the past eight months is what has made this opportunity even better," Zulli said upon signing. "Now, I have an amazing opportunity with a great team to play for the Montreal Alouettes."
 
Zulli, who led the PSAC in touchdown passes for the third consecutive season in 2013 (35; fourth-most in the nation), joins former Ohio State standout Troy Smith as one of four quarterbacks on the Montreal roster. Another notable teammate is long-time Cincinnati Bengals standout wide receiver Chad Johnson.
 
In 2012, Zulli's Harlon Hill Trophy winning campaign, he led all divisions of college football this season with 54 touchdown passes, which tied the Division II single-season record. He also paced Division II with 4,747 passing yards, ranking second among all divisions. His numerous accomplishments also included NCAA single-season records for points responsible for in a season (344) and touchdowns responsible for in a season (57).
 
His storied career includes 10,988 passing yards and 123 touchdowns along with 675 rushing yards and nine touchdowns. Zulli ranks second in PSAC history in career touchdown passes, fourth in total offense (11,663 yards) and passing yards and fifth in completions (862) and pass attempts (1,410).
 
"It really is a true blessing," Zulli said. "I always believed good things happen to good people, and I feel like this is my chance.  So I'm going to put it all on the line and not let this opportunity of a lifetime pass!"
